Enchanting natural playground
As part of the renovation of an existing playground, we worked closely with Timberplay England to create a natural playground that is exciting for young and old children as well as teenagers. Some existing play elements were integrated into the new design. A tower combination, a twin seesaw, bouncy plates, a dwarf hill and a spacious sand play area were added to the playground with its many mature trees.
Waldorf School of Orange County
Kalifornien, USA
Playing in the playground
The Waldorf school in the Californian town of Orange County has had a very special school playground since 2016. Two high double swings standing next to each other allow four children to swing with and next to each other at the same time. The climbing structure, which is very suitable for schoolyards and on which several children can have fun climbing and balancing at the same time, is complemented by a platform with an attached tunnel slide. Here you can also climb and run around, or just enjoy the view, sit in the shade under the platform floor and immerse yourself in role play.Halasu

Play world with chickens for young and old
In 2017 and 2018, a spacious Richter play world was created on a green area of almost 13,000 square meters in the middle of the Slovakian town of Trenčín, which opened in autumn 2019 and was supplemented with additional equipment in 2020. The playground, which blends harmoniously into the old trees, offers play and exercise options for all ages. A sand play area with seesaws, chickens and an animal platform in the shape of a chicken, which can also be climbed by younger children via a wide ramp with climbing aids and can be left again carefree via the wide slide, invites children to role-play. You can train your sense of balance, concentration and body awareness by balancing on the beams of our "Lang und Länger" and on the horizontal bar. The large pyramid tower with tunnel slide is particularly attractive to older and more daring children. The sound climbing poles also require strength and courage, whereas the turning stone can be set in motion with a single finger, even by younger children.
Just So Festival, Rode Hall
Cheshire / England
Our partner Timberplay is taking part in the "Just So Festival" for the first time
"Just So" is a small, annual weekend festival, an imaginative outdoor family adventure like no other and arguably the best family festival in the UK today.
With a love of stories and childhood imagination at its heart, the Just So Festival allows families to step out of their everyday lives and immerse themselves together in a wonderland of literature, art, theater, dance, music, comedy and creative pursuits.
"Just So" takes the audience - from the youngest to the great-grandparents - on a unique journey of discovery full of mischief and chaos, in a land of magical midnight feasts, curious creatures and hidden sanctuaries.
In summer 2022, our English partner Timberplay was involved in the "Just So Festival" for the first time and presented some Richter play equipment here. In the magical Spellbound Forest, young and old could experience campfire stories during the day and campfire bands at night. Our climbing pyramid in the middle of the forest was particularly popular with older children, while the younger ones immersed themselves in role play in the playhouse.
Western Park Docklands
Melbourne, Australien
An exciting urban project
There is hardly a factor that influences the everyday life and development of children more than the spatial design of the living environment and the associated opportunities for “free play”. This is the central result of studies carried out by the Spielraum research group in various countries and cities. They show on a broad empirical basis the considerable importance of the quality of urban spaces for everyday life and the developmental opportunities of children. In collaboration with our Australian partner Marcus Constructions, we have created an attractive urban play space for children with the “Western Park Docklands” project in the metropolis of Melbourne that attracts young and old alike. The main focus is on the huge pyramid tower with a tunnel slide, which is visible from afar, brings an interesting aesthetic aspect to the urban environment and has an incomparably high play value.Oktopus - La Pegaso Park
Barcelona / Spain
The "Octopus" themed play structure in La Pegaso Park in Barcelona delights visitors of all ages.
On August 9, 2019, the "Octopus" themed play structure was opened in La Pegaso Park in the city center of the Spanish metropolis of Barcelona and has been delighting visitors of all ages ever since. The given theme of picking up on the "pulpo" typical of the area was realized in close cooperation between the Catalan architect Jordi Qeralt and the company Richter Spielgeräte GmbH from Germany. The entire animal body with a diameter of 3.65 meters and a length of 9.65 meters was transported from Frasdorf to Barcelona by heavy transport. The special thing about the planning and production of the play equipment was the almost completely digital process, so that in the end the precisely laser-cut connecting parts could be perfectly joined, welded and assembled.
The octopus stands on a tubular steel frame and is around 6.50 meters high. Its abdomen consists of an oval steel body with rubber membranes, wooden panels and rope nets. Inside there are various climbing nets on two different play levels. The inside of the animal's head is divided into two levels. Four tunnel slides lead down from the upper platform, while the lower level has two further enclosed tunnel slides and two covered climbs in the form of a crawling tunnel and an enclosed ladder made of perforated sheeting. This gives the body of the animal its eight characteristic tentacles, which are fitted with rubber suction cups on the outside and are thus a recognizable replica of the original. In addition, there are four rotating disks and six distorting mirrors at the lower ends of the tentacles, which can also be used to create exciting sensory experiences from the sand play area on which the octopus is standing. The animal's eyes consist of two rotating periscopes, through which you can view and observe the surroundings from a lofty height with the eyes of a "pulpo", so to speak.
In the immediate vicinity of the octopus is another slide, which is equipped with a wheelchair-accessible access ramp and a special entrance. This further slide symbolizes a tentacle of the octopus, which dives into the sea and emerges a little further back. The small colony of five crabs in the form of wooden bouncing plates, which are equipped with corresponding rubber scissors and tongs, as well as some coral branches made of robinia trunks, which are equipped with climbing grips and nets, give the octopus' surroundings additional maritime flair and invite active play.
World Towers
Mumbai / Indien
Ships in the middle of India's metropolis
There has been a spacious playground in the center of the Indian metropolis of Mumbai since 2018. The water play area with various gutter and damming elements as well as Archimedean screws invites young and old children to play with the elements. You can immerse yourself in role play on the billowing ship and the small sailing boat, you can sit, lie and chat on the various hammocks, and the combination of huts is ideal for climbing and hiding. However, the attractive focus of the play area is undoubtedly the two large ships with sand play areas in the bow. Here sailors, captains and pirates can let off steam to their hearts' content. Another highlight is the arched bridge, which is visible from afar and invites you to balance and connects the play areas. What is particularly exciting is that the playground was installed on a roof terrace on the 6th floor of a building. The project was therefore particularly technically complex and a challenge in terms of statics and ground anchoring.Arese Shopping Mall
Mailand / Italy
Enrichment for shopping arcade: Richter indoor playground
The fact that Richter not only equips conventional playgrounds but also designs indoor play areas can be seen, for example, in the "Arese" shopping arcade in Milan, Italy.
With an area of 92,000 square meters spread over 200 stores, restaurants, cafés and an indoor and outdoor sports facility, the Arese Shopping Center is the largest shopping mall in Italy. Here you will find a Richter play paradise, which attracts attention from afar thanks to its attractive centerpiece, a 13-meter-high pyramid tower. The tower is also equipped with a climbing wall, net windows and a huge tunnel slide with portholes. Next to it are spacious platform huts that can be climbed and explored and, with their niches, not only offer children of all ages a place to retreat to, but also enable a wide variety of role-playing games. There are child-friendly seating areas for painting, chatting and picnicking.
Il Castello Centro Commerciale
Ferrara / Italy
Richter castle complex in Italian shopping center
The undisputed focal point of the shopping center in Ferrara, Italy, which opened at the end of 2017, is the "Castello" - an all-round playable castle complex designed by Richter Spielgeräte GmbH. It consists of five different castle towers connected by bridge elements. Here you can climb, crawl, hide and immerse yourself in knightly role play to your heart's content. You can reach the upper level of the castle via various climbing modules such as a climbing trunk, climbing pole and various nets and ladders, from where you can enjoy the view. A long tunnel slide takes you down to the bottom. In the middle of the "castle courtyard" there are also swings, swinging horses and triangular platforms with a slide and climbing net, which are also suitable for smaller children.
